Victor Mason, the author of BUTTERFLIES OF BALI, was born and educated in England. As a very young man he went to Hong Kong where he lived and worked for about twelve years, before taking a holiday in Bali in 1969. He found it very difficult to leave the island, and, except for the odd brief interval, remained here until the end of his life.
